ARTHOD, a French eyewear company, enriched by the twenty years of experience of its Creator, unveils its first collection. Influenced by Art, history and past lifestyles, the Designer of the ARTHOD brand has managed to combine the iconic and charismatic lines of yesteryear with finesse and modern technicality. Combining the nostalgia of old France, ARTHOD revisits its roots, its historical and cultural heritage in a tribute that is as moving as it is artistic. A true fusion of retro and chic, the first collection is available in five frames in six colors with natural and soft inspirations.


ARTHOD designs are recognized and recognizable by their classic and timeless charm whose nostalgic lines are dear to their creator. With a wandering soul and the heart of an eternal student, he knew how to put his multiple talents, his inspirations and his passion for history, the past, architecture and the Arts to good use in order to concoct a collection as surprising as classic: with a vibrant character.


The ARTHOD brand pays, in its own name, a tribute to the history of French eyewear and to the cradle of its birth in the heart of the Jura mountains. Today, based in Berry in the Cher department, it is drawn, designed, sculpted and invented in order to offer the world of optics its retro chic touch with contemporary trends. The ethical choice to exclusively use Hexetate as a 30% recycled raw material for the entire collection was obvious, both for the sake of comfort but also for the longevity of the models. Indeed, Hexetate is a light, comfortable material, more resistant to high temperatures and just as adjustable as its cousin Acetate. Furthermore, Hexetate is a guaranteed anti-allergen product, approved and used in the medical sector, particularly for dental and joint prostheses and contact lenses for its composition without Bisphenol A, without plasticizer and without phthalate.


The resonance and reminiscences of memories is a voluntary act for the Creator of the brand, who was keen to perpetuate, pay homage and sublimate the past like the vision of the splendor of a lost Paradise. ARTHOD's creations display an efflorescence of details as emblematic as they are innovative, offering pure designs with dexterous and reasoned lines.


The ARTHOD Logo itself was thought of and designed in a symbolic way. Its strong Art Deco-inspired letters denote the authenticity and desire of the brand to bring the graphics of the past into symbiosis with modern eloquence and finesse. The letter “O” is also given a dual functionality, since it is transformed and mutated to form the emblematic coat of arms of the brand: the Sun, the Light as well as the Sunglasses. This “O” underlined by a horizontal bar, defining the horizon, the view, the glasses merge to create the symbol of the Sun on the Horizon. An artistic nod, roundly led to the Shen ring of Egyptian culture, symbolizing the concepts of eternity, infinity, symmetry, perfection and protection.
